Sharon Althea Brown was born in Kingston, Jamaica. She is the 4th of nine children for Annel and Clifton Brown (deceased). Since the age of 5 years old her humble background while growing up in Jamaica has led her to look at life’s bigger meaning in asking probing questions such as who we are and why are we here. Her writing skills became evident in Elementary School when she was one of three chosen in an essay competition after completing a field trip to an industrial park in Kingston, Jamaica. The prize was 5 beautiful story books; its memory has been to date one of the proudest moments in her life.
School had its ups and downs and after completing high school; Sharon enrolled in College of Arts Science and Technology (now UTECH) where she pursued a 2 year course in Personnel Management. Her heart was always set on becoming a journalist but that path seem to have eluded her over the years. After completing her studies, she served in various administrative capacities and eventually held the position of Assistant Personnel Officer with the National Water Commission before leaving Jamaica.
Marriage led her to reluctantly migrate to the United States. Her entry proved to be a challenge as she had to begin taking odd jobs before her acclamation in this new culture, thus corporate world. She spent several years working in the not-for-profit sector and later pursued a professional career as a Grant Administrator with Washington Mutual Bank (now Chase Bank) then later as a Grant Writer with Daily Bread Food Bank (renamed Feeding South Florida). After serving in this capacity for 5 years, she made a bold move by exiting to create Halien LLC in 2008; since then, she has written her first book “Awakened Awareness” in addition to creating spiritual greeting cards and posters to complement her writings.
The genesis of her spiritual gift began in 2007, when she began to receive messages from within. Sharon calls it the God Force (Devine Intelligence) speaking, instructing and teaching about mankind’s purpose, and those things, which affect us internally and externally with profound understanding. It nudges again and again that the true battle and the answers we seek to life’s questions are all within. In journaling, Sharon came to the realization that what is being bestowed upon her should be shared with truth seekers, or anyone searching for answers to their purpose.
Her writings give clues in connect the dots that at times elude us in the meanderings of life. She gives clarity with a deep understanding that each of us can have some measure of control in the path we choose which ultimately leads us to our destiny in a sober and conscious way.
These thoughts, words, sentences and phrases have strengthened her faith, purpose and the divinity within. It has changed the way she sees herself, life, and helped in her dialogue with others and most of all, it spotlights how much we are asleep as against being awakened. Her writings give a glimpse of mankind’s role in an expansive never ending universe.
A proud mother of a daughter, Sharon knows for sure that the God Force speaks to and through all of us at our various levels of consciousness. She believes that to be in that place, we need to begin a cleansing process where we are open and free. She rightly states that our blessings and lessons are for all but it is more for those who see it and embrace it
